Mr Peter Carlsson

Peter Carlsson joined NXP Semiconductors at the beginning of 2008 as CPO responsible for purchasing and outsourcing. In this role Peter has been driving a transformation project to take the purchase organization from a tactical decentralized structure to a strategic global commodity organization. Through this process NXP have managed to reduce its procurement organization by 35 % while increasing savings through a systematic focus on value added focus and transfer transactional activities to low cost shared service. Part of the transformation is moving resources from west to east and that’s why he is located in Singapore today.

Before starting at NXP, Peter was CPO at Sony Ericsson where he managed to achieve more than 700 million Euros in annual savings and also implemented a global VMI hub for incoming material in Hong Kong. The hub enabled Sony Ericsson to substantially improve supply chain flexibility while reducing total inventory. Peter had a total of 13 years experience from different roles with Ericsson and Sony Ericsson, mostly in Sweden but also in the US. He was also part of the team that built and implemented Ericsson’s framework for Supplier Quality Assurance.
 

 
Mr Chue Yuin Cheong

IBM Global Business Solutions

Chue Yuin Cheong leads the IBM GBS General Business and the Industrial Sector in ASEAN. Prior to that he was the Country Leader for IBM Singapore Global Business Services (GBS). A believer in driving business efficiencies through the application of technology, Chue has over 22 years of experience consulting to local and foreign multinational companies on strategy development, process improvement and systems implementation.
He is acknowledged within IBM GBS globally as a subject matter expert in the electronics manufacturing services (EMS) by virtue of the consulting work he did at tier 1 EMS companies in Asia such as Hon Hai Precision/Foxconn, Compal Electronics, Inventec, Venture Corp, Solectron, Jabil Circuits, TSMC, Chartered Semiconductor, etc.

His consulting experience has led him to work on projects from Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, ASEAN, US and Europe for leading industrial, electronics and global contract manufacturers. He holds an Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School and a MSc in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, USA.
 

 
Dr. Robert de Souza

Dr Robert de Souza is the Executive Director and Chief Executive of The Logistics Institute – Asia Pacific.

TLI - Asia Pacific is a premier institute based in Singapore nurturing logistics excellence in industry, postgraduate research and education. TLI – Asia Pacific is a seven-time AFSCA (Asian Freight and Supply Chain Award) winner since 2003.

Prior to joining TLI – Asia Pacific, Dr de Souza was Executive Vice President for V3 Systems in the Asia Pacific, Corporate Senior Vice President and Global Chief Knowledge Officer at Viewlocity Inc. and Vice Chairman and CEO of SC21 Pte. Ltd.

Dr de Souza is a Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology in USA and a Senior Fellow at the National University of Singapore. He has published extensively and is a member of the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing and the International Journal of Logistics Research and Applications and SMBNet.

Dr de Souza is a Chartered Engineer and serves on multiple industry, government and academic committees. Amongst these are most notably: the Resource Panel for the Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) on Transport, the Advisory Panel of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Singapore (CILTS), the IDA RFID Alliance (now part of the National RFID Centre), the IBM Global University Partners Leadership Advisory Board.

Dr. de Souza received his Ph.D., M.Sc. and B.Sc. Honours in the United Kingdom.

R. Dhinakaran, Managing Director of Jay Gee Group of Companies, Singapore is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) of Singapore, is also a holder of a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA).

The Jay Gee Group retails several leading international fashion and lifestyle brands such as Levi’s, Levis Strauss Signature, Dockers, TM Lewin, New Look, Holland & Barrett, Liz Claiborne, Aldo, Giuseppe Zanotti, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Adidas Kids, Carters, Levis Kids, Osh Kosh B’Gosh, and Watches of Switzerland in many countries.

Dhinakaran, also known as Dhina, is currently the Vice Chairman of the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI), member of the Taxpayer Feedback Panel of Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, board Member of WDA, President of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), Singapore Branch (CIMA), Executive Council Member & Honorary Treasurer of the Singapore Retailers Association (SRA), and the Governing Council Member of the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM).

He also holds other positions such as member of Corporate Governance Committee of Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Singapore (ICPAS), Chairman of the Management Accounting Committee of Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Singapore (ICPAS), Board Member of the Little India Arcade Pte Ltd (LIA) and the Vice Chairman of the Hindu Advisory Board, a Statutory Board under the Ministry of Community Development.

Dhina has shown interest over the years to leverage his skills and experience gained in leading businesses effectively in managing non-profit organizations for social causes as well.
 

 
Professor Anil Gaba
ORPAR Chaired Professor of Risk Management, INSEAD & Co-author of ‘Dance with Chance – Making Luck Work for You’

Anil Gaba received his Ph.D. in Decision Sciences at Duke University, USA. He is currently the ORPAR Chaired Professor of Risk Management, Professor of Decision Sciences, and the Academic Director of the Centre for Decision Making and Risk Analysis at INSEAD.

His research interests are in decision analysis, risk management, tournaments and contests, and Bayesian statistics. His papers have appeared in academic journals such as Management Science, Marketing Science, Operations Research, and Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, and in popular press such as Financial Times. He recently co-authored a book with Spyros Makridakis and Robin Hogarth titled Dance with Chance: Making luck work for you, which was released in April 2009.


He teaches courses such as Uncertainty, Data, and Judgment (MBA), Probability and Statistics (PhD), and Bayesian Analysis (PhD). In addition, he teaches modules related to decision making, risk management, and negotiation dynamics in several executive development programs all over the world. He has been nominated several times for the best teacher award in the MBA program, and has won the award eight times.

He is a regular consultant and invited speaker to various multinationals in areas of financial management and general management in Asia, Europe, and the United States. He is also involved with various activities at the World Economic Forum.
 

 
Mr Richard Illi

Mr Richard Illi is the Vice President for Global Supply Perfumery at the Firmenich Asia Private Limited Singapore since 2005. He joined Firmenich SA at Switzerland in 1995 and has since held various management positions at the organization Firmenich. Prior to that, he was with Ciba Specialty Chemicals, Switzerland.

Richard holds a MBA from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland. He received his Master Degree in Chemical Engineering and “Prix d’Excellence”’ Award from the Swiss Technical Institute, Lausanne, Switzerland.

In addition to front line Sales & Marketing experience, Peter has implemented Global and Local Sales & Operations Planning processes with a strong emphasis on Strategic Deployment, Demand Planning and Product Management. He has worked closely with Supply Chain, Finance and Human Resource professionals to ensure that the Commercial aspects of Business Planning are integrated to all cross-functional planning activities.
