mehran Mehran Ravanpay
Executive Director, Global Logistics
Dell Inc.

Mr. Mehran Ravanpay serves as Executive Director, Global Logistics and Supply Chain in Singapore. Global Inbound Logistic organization is responsible for Dell Inc raw material and finish goods transportation globally.

Mr Ravanpay joined Dell August 1998 as Director, Workstation Manufacturing Engineering and Quality in Austin, Texas. Since joining Dell, Mr Ravanpay has held various leadership roles including Director, Dell Americas, North Carolina, Servers and Workstations Operations, DAO Engineering and Quality.

Prior to joining Dell, Mr Ravanpay worked at Silicon Graphics Inc (SGI) for nine years serving in various leaderships roles, leading operations, engineering and customer partnership. He started his career at Maxtor Corporation, bringing over 24 years of experience in delivering customer requirements while managing cost through creating a wining organization.

Mr Ravanpay has been an active board member of Piedmont Triad Partnership, North Carolina Make a Wish foundation, North Carolina Zoo, and Forsyth Tech Community College. Mr Ravanpay graduated and earned his Industrial Degree from San Jose State University.


pang Pang Hee Hon
Chief Executive Officer
Keppel Telecommunications and Transportation

Mr Pang Hee Hon is the Chief Executive Officer of Keppel T&T, appointed with effect from 4 January 2010. Previously the Deputy President (Operations) of ST Electronics (Info-Software Systems), Mr Pang oversaw business operations and international marketing. He was the Chairman of the eGov Chapter in the Singapore IT Federation, which provides feedback on eGov policies and promotes internationalisation of local ICT companies.

Mr Pang was also Head of Joint Logistics Department, MINDEF, where he directed the implementation of enterprise wide IT solutions for supply chain management, electronic procurement and finance. He also held other principal command and staff appointments within the Singapore Armed Forces, including Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Logistics) G-4 Army, Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Plans) G-5 Army, Commander, Division Artillery Headquarters and Deputy Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Ops Planning) G-3 Army.

Mr Pang holds a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Birmingham, and a Masters in Public Administration from the Harvard University.

Dr. Simchi-Levi holds a Ph.D. from Tel Aviv University. His research currently focuses on developing and implementing robust and efficient techniques for logistics and manufacturing systems. He has published widely in professional journals on both practical and theoretical aspects of logistics and supply chain management.

Dr. Simchi-Levi has been the principal investigator for more than five million dollars in funded academic research. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Operations Research, the flagship journal of INFORMS, the former Editor-in-Chief of Naval Research Logistics and a member of the board for several scientific journals including Management Science, Networks, Transportation Science and Telecommunication Systems, and a former Area Editor of Transportation for Operations Research. His Ph.D. students have accepted positions in leading academic institutes including Berkeley, Columbia U., U. of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, U. of Michigan, Purdue U., Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech.

Dr. Simchi-Levi is co-author (with Julien Bramel) of The Logic of Logistics, published by Springer in 1997 (1st Edition) and in 2004 (2nd Edition) (with Xin Chen and Julien Bramel). His second book, Designing and Managing the Supply Chain (with P. Kaminsky and E. Simchi-Levi) was published by McGraw-Hill in August 1999 (1st edition), 2002 (2nd edition) and 2007 (3rd edition). It received the Book-of-the-Year award and the Outstanding IIE Publication award given in 2000 by the Institute of Industrial Engineers. The book also received the Outstanding First Edition of the Year award given in 2000 by McGraw-Hill. It was selected by Business 2.0. December 2001 issue, as the best source for slashing time and cost and increasing productivity in the supply chain. It has been translated to Chinese, Japanese, Korean and and Portuguese. His 3rd book (with P. Kaminsky and E. Simchi-Levi), Managing the Supply Chain: The Definitive Guide for the Supply Chain Professional, was published by McGraw-Hill in December 2003. The book serves as a reference for consultants and managers involved in any one of the processes that make up the supply chain.

Gregor Preidl heads the transformation of the SAP Services organization in the Asia-Pacific-Japan region and is a member of the SAP Services leadership team there.

Previously, Preidl held management positions at SAP headquarters running global programs and customer projects for a number of industries.

Dr Robert de Souza is the Executive Director and Chief Executive of The Logistics Institute – Asia Pacific.

TLI – Asia Pacific is a premier institute based in Singapore nurturing logistics excellence in industry, postgraduate research and education. TLI – Asia Pacific is a seven–time AFSCA (Asian Freight and Supply Chain Award) winner since 2003.

Prior to joining TLI – Asia Pacific, Dr de Souza was Executive Vice President for V3 Systems in the Asia Pacific, Corporate Senior Vice President and Global Chief Knowledge Officer at Viewlocity Inc. and Vice Chairman and CEO of SC21 Pte. Ltd.

Dr de Souza is a Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology in USA and a Senior Fellow at the National University of Singapore. He has published extensively and is a member of the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing and the International Journal of Logistics Research and Applications and SMBNet.

Dr de Souza is a Chartered Engineer and serves on multiple industry, government and academic committees. Amongst these are most notably: the Resource Panel for the Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) on Transport, the Advisory Panel of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Singapore (CILTS), the IDA RFID Alliance (now part of the National RFID Centre), the IBM Global University Partners Leadership Advisory Board.

Dr. de Souza received his Ph.D., M.Sc. and B.Sc. Honours in the United Kingdom.
