APPLICATIONS AND INTAKES
How many intakes do you have?
There are 2 intakes per year in January and August. Both intakes will consider both full-time and part-time applicants.
When do applications open for each intake?
Applications open in October for the August Intake and in July for the following year's January Intake.
How long do applications stay open for?
Around 6 months for August Intake and around 5 weeks for January Intake.
I do not have a 2nd class honours, can I still apply?
Yes, you may apply. Considerations will be given for relevant work experience. We may also call you for an interview if necessary.
What is the typical class profile?
Majority of our students are aged between 22 to 35.
What is the difference between full-time and part-time if all the classes are held in the evenings?
A full-time student can take up to 20 Units (or typically 5 courses) per semester, hence, they will study one course per weekday. A part-time student is limited to half of a full-time student’s workload and will only be able to study up to a maximum of 12 Units (or typically up to 3 courses) per semester.

If the application has closed, can I still apply?
Once the application has closed, no further applications will be considered.
Please apply during the following period: Oct-Mar (for Aug Intake) and Jul-Aug (for Jan Intake). Further details and deadlines will be announced on our website when application for the next cycle opens.
What is the length of candidature for this programme?

ADMISSION CRITERIA/REQUIREMENTS
What is the minimum requirement to be considered?
An undergraduate degree equivalent to an Honours (with Merit) degree from NUS in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Business Administration or any related technical discipline from institutions of recognized standing.
Do I need to take an English proficiency test (TOEFL/IELTS)?
Test Of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Applicants may be waived from this requirement if they completed their degree programme taught entirely in English, situated in an English speaking country, for example (non exhaustive list) Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, United Kingdom, USA.
The TOEFL score or IELTS result is only valid for 2 years after the test and should be valid at the beginning of the application period.
I have working experience. Does that help in my application?
Yes, only if you have met the minimum requirement of a Honours with Merit degree. The MSc (SCM) is a highly competitive programme and therefore even if you've met the minimum criteria, it doesn't guarantee you an offer into the programme.
PROGRAMME FEES AND FEE REBATES
How much is the fees?
W.E.F. Academic Year (AY) 2021/2022, the MSc (SCM) programme fees will be change to a per-program as opposed to a per-semester basis. The main benefit of this change is to allow students to take modules at a pace that commensurate with their availability and capability. Previously, students tend to over-load themselves with modules (in the per-semester scheme) or are unfairly penalized when they took longer to complete their dissertation.

Why is there an increase in fees?
The increased fee commensurate with a revitalized curriculum of approximately 33% new/revamped modules. The new/revamped curriculum is to equip students with the skills and knowledge of the state-of-the-art technologies and global concerns in the field, and to prepare them to be more future-ready for the fast evolving climate that can enable students to gain better employment.
The MSc (SCM) Programme Office will provide limited merit-based, bond-free scholarship awards of up to 65% of the programme fees to deserving students based on their academic qualifications and panel interviews.
Will current students have to pay the new fee or does it affect only new students?
The increased in fees will only apply to incoming students of AY2021/22 (August 2021 Intake) and subsequent intakes. Existing MSc (SCM) students who have enrolled before the August 2021 intake will remain on the MOE subsidized tuition fees scheme, until they graduate.
Are there scholarships/study awards available?
Merit-based fee rebates will be awarded to deserving applicants based on academic merits and assessment by the Admission committee. Rebate fee quantum are reviewed annually and subjected to revision. Please click here for the updated fee rebates.
Applicants will be notified of their fee rebate quantum when they receive their admission offer letters.

Is it expensive to live in Singapore?
Here is an estimate of your potential expenditure in Singapore. These amounts will vary accordingly depending on your personal needs and lifestyle pattern. You are advised to refer to the sample data as a rough guide for planning your expected living costs.

* Actual cost depends on type of residence and type of room. For the hostel fees you may refer to the Office of Student Affairs Hostel rate website. Coursework graduate students are advised to budget and source for off-campus accommodation as priority will be accorded to full-time research students and the demand for on campus housing in general exceeds supply. As an International Student, can I work part-time while on a full-time programme?
The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority's (ICA) student pass entitles international students to seek part-time jobs and internships in Singapore.
Working during term vacations:
All international students (refer to NUS full-time matriculated students) studying in NUS on ICA's student pass are eligible to work during term vacations without having to apply for work permit.
Working during academic term time:
International students* are allowed to work not more than 16 hours per week.

GRADUATE EMPLOYMENT
What are the job prospects after attaining this degree? Will NUS help with job placements?
Some of the common job prospects are business analyst, data scientist, supply chain specialist, quality engineer, project manager, consultant, etc. The jobs spread in manufacturing, logistics, financial and business services, and public sectors. There will be career fairs organised by the NUS Centre for Future-ready Graduates to help you connect with potential employers.

FILING FOR GRADUATION
Students will be automatically graduated once they have completed 40 Units and fulfilled the general MSc SCM degree, whichever is earlier. There is no need to file for graduation. Conferment will be on either 31 January (end of semester 1) or 30 June (end of semester 2). You may refer to Registrar’s website on more details of conferment, student status letter, transcripts & scrolls, and other actions required upon conferment.
