AN E-MARKETPLACE ECOSYSTEM FOR RELIEF ITEMS IN ASEAN

OVERVIEW

The overall activity is based on the two main activities of (i) determining the requirements for a digitally enhanced eMarketplace ecosystem and (ii) conducting an in-depth study of what constitutes and sustains value in essential supply chains in ASEAN.

The purpose is to demonstrate applicable technologies via work packages (WPs) and validate in a relevant environment such as a pilot in Indonesia with an agency and provincial stakeholders in ASEAN accompanied by a series of up to 9 in-country capacity-building workshops in supply chain management in up to 4 countries in ASEAN within 18 months.

With the engagement of the private sector in providing technological leadership and industry associations bringing communities of practice together, and government agencies and Ministries providing an endorsement and access to data sets, with local University partners as collaborators in delivery, this becomes foundational to linking all stakeholders with BHA support for sustainable development and guiding the journey to self-reliance.

GOALS

GOAL ONE

To build on previously BHA-supported studies, to enhance the eMarketplace ecosystem with a demonstration of fundraising transparency, procurement, transport, distribution, and delivery of goods and services for a particular use case.

 GOAL TWO

To conduct a value chain analysis of in-country (fresh staple) food value chains to improve the volume and value flow of staple food and increase social benefit to the local communities in a particular use case.

 GOAL THREE

To provide tools and learning that address the current bottlenecks and improvement opportunities for staple food supply chains in alignment with the eMarketplace ecosystem for synergy.

ANTICIPATED RESULTS

  • A verified and validated e-commerce technology demonstrator for fundraising transparency, procurement, transportation, distribution, and delivery of goods and services, tested in a relevant environment such as a pilot in Indonesia.
  • The development of a series of enhanced functionalities to increase the validity, usability, and scalability of the eMarketplace ecosystem across ASEAN.
  • End-to-end visibility of staple food supply chain and AI generative result for decision making.
  • Identify the bottlenecks in the supply chain activities and simulate pertinent supply chain network.
  • Designing a sustainable-resilient staple food supply chain for post-disaster management.
